The aim of Preparatory visits is to find project partners for donor partnership projects prior to, or during the preparation of a project application, the development of such partnerships, and the preparation of an application for a donor partnership project under the:

 A. Research component in the thematic areas:

a)  social sciences and humanities and/or

b) health (including aspects related to pharmaceuticals, biomedicine and prevention)

 

B. Scholarship component

a) to implement mobility projects of students in higher education for up to one academic year in all fields of study and/or

 b) to implement short term academic staff mobility projects in higher education for up to 6 weeks

 

Eligible costs for preparatory visits are travel costs, accommodation, per diem (in accordance with applicable national scales), insurance. Support for preparatory visits is provided on the basis of real costs. The maximum amount of the grant shall not exceed EUR 1000 per project.Preparatory visits may last up to 5 days, including travel time

 

The deadline for the submission of applications to the Agency is 22 December 2013 (If submitting the application in person, the deadline for the submission is 20 December 2013, 16:30 Latvian time.  If submitting the application electronically or by post, the deadline for the submission is 22 December 2013 (postal stamp 22.12.2013)).

The application must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the visit takes place
