The European Commission has proposed to provide Belgium with one million euro from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help 412 former glass workers to find new jobs, and to include 100 young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs) in the actions planned.

The measures co-financed by the EGF would help the 412 workers and 100 NEETs, under the age of 25, in their efforts to find jobs by providing them with

  • guidance, training and upskilling,
  • job-search support,
  • support for collective projects and for business creation,
  • job-search and training allowances.

The total estimated cost of the package is €1.8 million, of which the EGF would provide one million euro (60 %).
